Garbage and Recycling collection takes place every Wednesday.

Bulk Items care collected every Wednesday. Please put out with your garbage and make sure stickers are attached.

Metal Collection takes place once a month on the fourth Thursday.

Garbage stickers are required for additional garbage that will not fit into your Borough issued green garbage can. These stickers are $2 each. Bulk stickers are required for all large items and based upon the size, vary in cost from $5, $10 and $15, and must be purchased before 1:00 pm on Monday for a Wednesday bulk pick-up. All stickers are available for sale at the municipal building during the hours of 8:00-4:30 Monday through Friday.

Waste questions can be directed to: solidwaste@chesterborough.org. These include questions regarding scheduling a pick-up, missed pick-ups and replacement cans.

Prescription Drug Take-Back Day @ Chester Police Department

On April 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Chester Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its 15th opportunity in seven years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal to Chester Police Department at 1 Parker Road, Chester, NJ 07930. The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches. If you can not make the event we have a MedReturn Collection box in the police headquarters lobby that can be utilized by Chester residents.
