PSE&G and Contractor Franklin Energy Offer Free Home Energy Assessments

On or about January 30th, PSE&G contractor Franklin Energy* will begin to conduct door-to-door visits between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM to educate and register customers for a free Quick Home Energy Check-up (QHEC).

* All Franklin Energy employees will check-in with Municipality’s police department  each day, have an ID badge and will wear a shirt with their cobranded Franklin Energy and PSE&G logo.

If residents schedule a QHEC, they will participate in a walk-through of their home with an energy adviser, either in person or remotely (using a smartphone). The energy adviser will look at the home and identify areas where it could be wasting energy, including:

  • insulation levels in walls, ceilings and attics
  • air leakage around windows and doors
  • heating and cooling systems
  • lighting fixtures
  • appliances
  • water heating equipment

During in-person visits, PSE&G contractor Franklin Energy will install energy-saving products such as LED light bulbs, faucet aerators and smart power strips - at no cost. (Limited supply per household and where applicable. See [] for details.)

After the assessment, residents will receive a customized report with specific actions they can take to reduce their energy usage and costs. The results of a QHEC assessment could determine their eligibility for the Home Weatherization program which provides up to $7,500 in additional energy efficiency upgrades for income-eligible home owners.

The Franklin Energy employees will have program brochures and product samples and will also have PSEG reusable bags to give customers to help identify them as part of the PSEG team.

If you have questions – or to schedule your own QHEC so you are prepared to reply to constituent inquiries, please contact Franklin Energy’s QHEC Program Manager Taylor Adler at (201) 928 -7740 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
