The State of New Jersey has extended the adoption its budget until September 30 due to the Coronavirus, and as a result, towns have not yet received a certified tax rate. It was recommended by the State of New Jersey to issue estimated bills for the 3rd quarter taxes, which are due August 1st with a 10 day grace period. (more…)

I hope this letter finds you well and coping the best we all can during this truly life changing time. As I write this, there have been six of our fellow residents confirmed to have tested positive for COVID-19. The disruption to our lives, whether it be to the closing of the schools and offices, the loss or furloughing of a job, the loss of a loved one, and the uncomfortable feeling that life as we have known it may be permanently altered, make for a feeling uncertain apprehension. The bright side is that we live in an extraordinary caring community and look out for one another the best we can. We will get through this together and come out stronger on the other side. (more…)

Items such as gloves, wipes, masks, and tissues, which are being widely used by all Morris County residents due to the COVID-19 pandemic, should not be placed into curbside recycling containers. They are contaminants and must be put into the trash. MCMUA employees will not be picking up any bins that contain these items. (more…)
TRENTON – Governor Phil Murphy today signed Executive Order No. 120, postponing primary elections on Tuesday, June 2nd to Tuesday, July 7th in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This includes primaries for President, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, the 25th District of the New Jersey Legislature, and county and municipal elections, as well as county committee elections. Last month, Governor Murphy issued Executive Order No. 105, which delayed certain elections set to take place in March and April until May 12th. (more…)

The New Jersey Department of the Treasury has frozen a portion of spending in order to ensure the State can meet its emergency and statutorily required obligations. Regrettably, this includes freezing funding to support the 2017 Homestead Benefit program. (more…)
