Key Points to Note:

  2. Recycling: the Morris County MUA will continue to handle recycling. Recycle day will continue to be on WEDNESDAYS.  Please ensure that recyclables are separated from general waste and have recycling bins out by 6:00am on WEDNESDAYS.

  3. Bulk and Metal Waste: Bulk and Metal will be picked up on Thursdays with garbage. Residents will still need to complete a Bulk pick up form and purchase stickers at the municipal building. Metal forms will no longer be necessary.

Garbage Stickers

Garbage stickers are required for additional garbage that will not fit into your Borough issued green garbage can. These stickers are $2 each and are available for sale at the municipal building during regular business hours.

Curbside Recycling Program

The MCMUA collects single-stream mixed recyclables. This means that aluminum, glass bottles and jars, steel cans and plastic containers can be mixed with recyclable paper including newspaper, corrugated cardboard, junk mail, office paper, magazines, cartons, etc., for curbside collection. Additionally, none of the newspaper or cardboard needs to be bundled or tied. There is still a 50-pound weight limit on the recycling container put out at curbside for collection by the MCMUA.

Chester Borough does not provide a municipal recycling depot where recyclables can be dropped off. If you missed a recycling collection, please hold on to and put out the recyclables during the next available collection.

For additional information please visit: mcmua.com

Bulk stickers are required for all large items and based upon the size, vary in cost from $5, $10 and $15, and must be purchased before 2:00pm on Mondays for a Wednesday bulk pick-up. All stickers are available for sale at the municipal building during regular business hours.
